Dr. Swee received a Masters of Public Heath and an M.D. from The George Washington University School of Medicine in Washington, D.C. He was then the first person to complete a novel Vascular and Interventional Radiology Clinical Pathway residency at the University of Virginia Medical Center in Charlottsville, VA. He continued on at UVA to completed a formal fellowship in Vascular and Interventional Radiology and then served as Assistant Professor of Radiology. During his tenure, he was noted to have performed the first endograft repair of a ruptured abdomenal aortic aneurysm at UVA. He is also known for having performed one of the first B-RTO (balloon assisted retrograde transvenous obliteration) of bleeding gastric varices in the United States.
Dr. Swee has published numerous scientific abstracts and articles on advanced endovascular techniques to treat vascular disease. He is a national speaker and instructor of endovascular and interventional procedures. He has special interest in peripheral arterial disease, interventional oncology, and hepatobiliary disease.
